Development for 2012

Hi everybody!

It's been a while since we've had any activity here on this project. Lately, the app has begun to roam my mind again and that's why I'm now sending out this message.

Personally I would love to see the Android app out for the 2012 festival. The 2011 version got boosted with much more data than 2010 (1000+ events), better performance, more features, in-app updates and better integration to www.malmofestialven.se, and I think we got really far with that - and with good quality and a stable app. Our rating on Android Market shows a clear positive tendency. I'd personally like to take that tendency even further!

Since the basic features are in place (what's going on, different lists, search etc.), I'm open for any input that you might have for features. I do have some ideas, some of them are leftovers from last year, and some more "artsy" than practical.

With regards to practical development I'm considering a move to https://github.com/. I still believe in pull-based delegation of work, however, I do have a feeling that I failed a bit in being clear in the feature descriptions and priorities. I'll try to communicate features / changes better. Also the Issue Tracker might not have given us the best overview of what needs to be done. Therefore I'm considering to move feature / issue management to https://trello.com/, which is a light-weight and easy-to-use kanban board. That will make us hyper agile.

I hope to see development happen somewhere from now until late May.

Please follow up on this posting, and let me know if you can or cannot aid the development of the Android app this year. It would make my life easier if have full insight into who can and cannot participate. I hope to have a team built mid-March, maybe with some beer meeptup(?) when we start. Mmmmmmm, beer... :o)
