Follow-up to change 65895

As this is the first commit by anyone else but me (crazy cool! :), I thought I'd just follow up on some of the suggestions made in the commit message.

  • Refactoring the repositories classes to contentprovider sounds good by me, as also suggested by Andreas. If we can avoid boilerplate code and ensure more stability, I'm all for it.
  • I'll take it on me to add the ignores (bin (should work already, although added after adding the java code) and gen) to the svn:ignore attribute of the whole code tree.
  • The two databases are separate because the favorites must survive a full update to the events database. To keep it simple, the user generated data is not contained in the centrally generated database. (There's some cleanup code that runs, if a favorite does not exist in a new events database (the favorite is then removed from the favorite database)). As of this time there are no changes planned that will change this behavior, we continue keeping the databases apart.
